"Motor Juicer" or "Juicer" for short

Motor Control System:

System Components:

  • One Juice Brain microprocessor control unit plus one or more Juice Plates.
  • Juice Plates are in the form of a flat plate that "sandwiches" together to multiply current capacity.  A system employing more than one Juice Plate is known as a Juicer Sandwich.

Design specs:

  • Input Voltage range ...................................................... 70 to 500 volts
  • Max Juice Plates per Juice Brain (Juicer Sandwich).. 12
  • Juice Plate Max Output Current.................................... 500 Amps continuous
  • Max Juicer Sandwich output current (12 Juice Plates).. 6,000 Amps continuous
  • Max Juicer system output power................................... 250 KW per Juice Plate
  • Max Juicer Sandwich system (12 Juice Plates)........... 3 Megawatts

Design features:

  • Hot Juice Standard specs including:
    • Waterproof.
    • Automotive industry standard operating environment.
    • Over volt input protection.
    • Over temperature protection.
    • Motor fault / short circuit protection.
  • Liquid and/or convection cooled.
  • User configurable Juice Brain microprocessor control unit.
  • Dash mountable user interface for programming and monitoring.
  • System expandable from 500 Max Amps (one Juice Plate) to 6,000 Max Amps (12 Juice Plates)
  • The system can be configured to power DC, AC (multiples of three Juice Plates), or Sep-EX motors (combination of two or more Juice Plates).
  • A Juicer Sandwich eliminates the need for multi-motor series / parallel switching. *
  • Regen with series wound DC motors.  (Requires multiples of three Juice Plates plus Hi-Torque Electric timing ring).

 * In any Juicer Sandwich arrangement, all Juice Plates are driven independently.  Therefore, a Juicer Sandwich connected to two or more motors provides independent motor control and current multiplication for each motor.

Development status:

  • Design put on hold October 2007 due to BEQ1 production.
  • Design returned to "drawing board" November 2008.
  • Concept, schematic and mechanical design formalization.
  • Parts research.
  • Tailoring design for anticipated Silicone Carbide semiconductor inclusion "Carbide Juicer".
