What kind of batteries will the BEQ1 work with?
The
BEQ1 will only work with AGM batteries.
How is the BEQ1 different from other equalizers?
The BEQ1 does not directly equalize (balance) the batteries. Instead, the BEQ1 maintains the condition
of the batteries which in turn inherently maintains balance. They do this by enhancing the built-in gas recombinant
catalyst action of the battery.
Does it matter what type of charger is used?
Yes. The BEQ1's are only effective with chargers that employ a constant current pulse finish
charging phase. Later model (2006 and newer) Zivan NG3 is a good example.
Will the BEQ1 balance a previously unbalance pack?
No.
The pack must be fully charged, one battery at a time, by an individual AGM rated battery charger prior to installing the
BEQ1's.
Do
I need to do anything before installing the BEQ1's?
Yes. The
pack must be fully charged, one battery at a time, by an individual AGM rated battery charger prior to installing the BEQ1's.
This is true even with a brand new pack.
How
do I know if a battery is fully charged?
As a battery charges, the current
drawn by the battery reduces as the voltage increases. When the voltage reaches 14.7 Volts (7.35 for 6 volt batteries)
and the current has reduced to below 1 Amp, the battery is full.
