Roots
Two announcements: Announcement 1: The original “Juicer”
product line that Hot Juice Electric, LLC was incorporated to produce is now being taken of the shelf,
dusted off and put back on the drawing board. The Juicer product line includes the
Chassis Juicer (DC-DC converter) and the Motor Juicer (Motor controller).
Announcement 2: The BEQ1 products, including the AGM and LiFePO4 are being discontinued. It turns out that since the production and manufacturing methods are so
different between the BEQ1 products and the Juicer products, something had to give.
Hot Juice Electric is simply not “big” enough to run two different manufacturing lines.
Since the Juicer products were our original goal, it won. But, not to worry! We will continue to support all BEQ1
products that have been sold, in all respects including warranty, service and consultation. Rest assured,
we are still here! We are very grateful for the success of the BEQ1 products, but now we are driving
forward down a straighter path. There is a lot of work to do before the Juicer line of
products will be available, so for now, it’s back to work! Note: The BEQ1 was a modest starting point towards
a very robust, feature rich battery management system. As mentioned above, we have elected to concentrate
our efforts on the Juicer line of products. Therefore, the BEQ1 design,
and pending patent, is up for sale to anyone willing to progress the BEQ1 on to the BEQ2
and beyond. If you are interested in that quest, drop us a line or give us a shout. Forever onward…

2009!
I predict 2009 is going to be a monumental year! Yes, we are still producing the BEQ1 battery regulators,
but just how long is not really determined. The design has not sold yet, so is still inhibiting progress on the
Chassis Juicer and Motor Juicer, but progress is still being made... The established design progress of the Juicer uses traditional IGBT transistors for the power handling stage of the Juice Plates. That may
change. New transistor technology is on the horizon that combines silicone and carbide. This technology
is being developed at the Mississippi State University (MSU) and SemiSouth Laboratories, Inc. This revolutionary technology
yields a leap of performance and reliability over current silicone as transistors did over vacuum tubes. The Juicer design is veering towards the Silicone Carbide technology and if the devices are available by the time the project is ready
for construction, the IGBT version may get dropped and go exclusively with the Carbide Juicer. Exciting
Stuff! More to come... Ken
