Testing the modified BEQ1’s for
LiFePO4 cells has taken quite a few turns and modified many of our original plans. For example, the testing
has gone well enough to introduce the prototype BEQ1 LiFePO4 version as a product. It will be a first generation
economy version.
While all this is going on, overwhelming
interest has been expressed in the BEQ1 LiFePO4, and orders for the original AGM version BEQ1 is now outpacing our production
capabilities. It is clear that something has got to give!
So, we have just completed negotiations with an assembly company to take on a portion of the
production process. This brings us to the subject of price (this is the part I hate!). Since
we have been assembling everything by hand, and since we were not including our labor in the sale price, we are stuck with
having to raise the price. That is because the assembly company does charge for
their labor and the parts are still being bough in the same 100 lots as before. The gain is that they can
produce units faster because of their automated robotic assembly line. Eventually, as sales volumes increase,
parts can be bought in larger lots allowing the assembly company to take on an even larger portion of the process.
I guess all that is called progress!
With all
that said, keep looking on the Pricing / Ordering page for the addition of the BEQ1 LiFePO4 regulators. We are hoping to go on line with them in about a
month or two.
Keeping
the Amps Rolling!
