I installed the first set
of prototypes on Tweety in May 2006. The set-point on these BEQ1s is optimized
to work with the Zivan NG3 charger with the V10 chip pulse equalization. Immediately prior to installing
the BEQ1s I replaced three failed batteries in the pack with new ones. This resulted in a very unbalanced
pack. Within three days every battery in the pack was within 0.2 volts of each other, both right after
a full charge and after a 10 mile drive. The following weekend, I conducted a 60 amp dummy load test across
the whole pack. For the duration of the test, all batteries remained within .2 volts of each other.
It was not apparent which batteries were new or old until near the end of the test when the older batteries reached
the end of their capacity limit.
It certainly appears the Zivan NG3 – V10 and the BEQ1s make a good team!

Slow but sure progress
is being made. This new website was published Sunday, 11/04/07 and is still under construction.
I have been in the R&D
business since 1996 under the name Thomas Electronics, but that was very different. As Thomas Electronics,
I designed and built contract projects. Usually only a few products were developed for each job.
I am learning that production for retail is quite a big deal. I now certainly can appreciate why
so many new technologies take so long to come to market. Development is one thing, but manufacturing for
marketing is quite another!
The BEQ1 is my “launch” product. It is a simple, reliable, rugged product that I hope will
help get the Hot Juice Electric ball rolling. With really no startup capital, this is
my start up strategy. I plan to push hard on product reliability and customer service.
So, here we go….
Stay Charged!,
